“How Does It Get Any Better Than This?”

As with most of my song titles, I try to keep them short. This song however, deserves the full weight of its name.

“How Does It Get Any Better Than This?” is a question,  a mantra, and an expression of gratitude. It remains hopeful and open to all the bright possibilities.
 
Sitting on my porch, guitar in hand, in the early summer, I asked myself this very question, “How does it get any better than this?” and then as a thought experiment, I began to make a list.  Without trying, I listed goals that come from the perspective of abundance and gratitude, rather than fear and desperation.  That's a lot of power in one question. The thought experiment then led me to reflect on all the times in my life that I had made a decision or choice based on lack, or thinking that I needed something else to be complete.

“How does it get any better than this? I’d like to know.”
If ever possible, I will strive to make decisions from a place of abundance and gratitude. Because, no matter how tough life can be, we can always live in the mindset of gratitude, and being open to positive change.
